What Can I Sell On Cargo?
At the moment, we are accepting the following kinds of sellers and products:
- Independent fashion designers
- Accessories makers (shoes, belts, handbags, etc)
- Upcyclers and remakers
- Jewelry makers
- Resellers and vintage sellers
If you’re unsure if the above applies to you, give it a shot and apply! We love makers of one of a kind goods! The only thing we’ll truly turn our noses at is Shein or Aliexpress resellers and drop shippers.
To apply, just download the app and click the “+” button.
What Are The Fees?
Cargo is entirely free to join as a seller; there is no onboarding fee and no listing fee. List as many products as you’d like, and add as many videos as you’d like to add to sell each product.
For sales that you drive from your existing channels
For example: someone is scrolling your TikTok and comes across something they’d like to purchase. They go to your link in bio, which is your unique Cargo profile link, and from there, they land on your Cargo profile page and make a purchase.
Cargo charges 0% commission and 0% transaction/ credit card fees from any sales that you drive from your existing channels. You’ll receive a unique link to your profile and products, and as long as that link is used by your customers, no fees of any kind will be charged. 100% of what the customer pays, to the very last penny, will be paid out to you.
💰 For any buyers you introduce to Cargo who download the app, you as the seller will receive a $10 cash bonus per purchase made. The buyer will also receive a $10 discount on the purchase. Cargo funds both the buyer discount and the seller bonus.
For the above, just be sure to use your unique Cargo link.
For sales you make from within Cargo
For example: someone is scrolling Cargo and comes across one of your videos. They’re totally enthralled and click on your profile, and end up purchasing one of your products. This is someone you’ve never sold to before.
For any sales you make from within Cargo, Cargo will charge a 10% commission, and a 3.5% transaction/ credit card fee.
There are no boosting tricks in Cargo, and nothing additional you need to pay for to get your products seen and purchased. The best way to get your products purchased is to make awesome videos of your products; our feed prioritizes videos and products based on how well they resonate with users.
How Will I Get Paid?
You’ll receive payment 2 days after package delivery to the buyer. This will initially show as Cargo credit in your Cargo wallet which you can then cash out directly to your bank account.
What Are The Benefits For Selling on Cargo?
We’re a free platform giving you the freedom to share your brand and design stories through the power of video. With so many like-minded users on Cargo, you can increase your chances of being discovered by new customers!
Who Is Responsible For Listings & Shipping?
The seller has full control and responsibility for listings and shipping the product to the customer.
Cargo will generate a shipping label for you inside the app and take care of any headaches such as returns and sales tax!
How Does Shipping Work?
A shipping label will be ready for you to use right when you make a sale. You’ll be able to access the shipping label in your Cargo app, and everything will be all set for you to simply drop off and mail the product you’ve sold.
What’s The Process From The Seller’s Perspective When Someone Places An Order?
Once a customer has placed an order, you’ll receive a notification and your stock level will automatically be updated in the app.
You can then confirm the order which will notify the customer, and a shipping label will be generated for you inside the app.
How Do Returns Work on Cargo?
Cargo will cover the cost of return labels for your customers, letting them buy with confidence and helping you sell more!
What About Sales Taxes? Does The Seller Manage That or Does Cargo?
Cargo takes care of charging sales taxes on your behalf and also remits them on your behalf – so much easier than if you were to run your own online shop, and have to take care of that yourself as a seller.
