Cargo Videos That Sell: What Makes For A Great Cargo Video

The best Cargo videos are simple, authentic and rather raw around the edges. This isn’t the place for a buttoned up brand presentation. Think closer to TikTok post and very, very far away from a super bowl commercial.

You can submit as many videos as you want. One product can have multiple videos that you submit with it ; one video can not show multiple products.

Top 3 Ways to Film a Cargo Video

DO

Video can be any length at all, but at least 10 seconds long. Generally, Cargo videos average around 25 seconds in length.

✅ Video must be shot vertically (i.e. portrait orientation 9:16)

✅ Video should speak to one product only – we don’t want any confusion on the viewer’s end – we don’t want the viewer becoming frustrated that they can’t purchase the product they actually want.

✅ Raw and natural – avoid videos that feel like watching a commercial and have been highly produced and planned. Instead target videos that are more raw and social media-like in feel

✅ Keep in mind all details about your product will be found below the video, so there’s no need to repeat that. Think of the video itself as a place to captivate the customer.

DON’T

❌ Reference of how fast it ships, where it ships from, how it ships, etc

❌ Reference the price or offer; that information is clearly communicated below the listing

❌ Do your best to avoid text/annotations in the bottom or top 25% of the screen, since that’s where the ‘buy now’ button, brand name and product icon appear, as well as the Cargo logo. In general, too much text on the video should also be avoided.

❌ No heavy filters edited in the video

❌ No frames around the videos please (for example)

❌ No a slideshows of still images

❌ Anything under 10 seconds is definitely too short.
